2. What does the Kidnap, Extortion & Detention policy cover?
The policy covers the costs involved in resolving a kidnapping, extortion, illegal detention or hijacking event. Covered expenses include ransoms, negotiating fees; medical expenses, legal liability as well as a very broad range of other expenses that a company could incur following a crisis.

3. Is the Kidnap, Extortion & Detention policy expensive?
A small US domiciled company (USD 100,000,000 and under in sales) with no international operations other than Europe, Canada or the U.K. can expect to pay very little for a USD 1,000,000 policy. A larger company or a company with more international exposure would, naturally, pay more.

4. Is the family of an employee covered?
Yes, under our policy the definition of insured person includes spouse, children, domestic employees and guests.

5. How are claims reported?
Claims are reported directly to the underwriters who, in conjunction with the partner security consulting firm, will arrange for an effective and an immediate response.
